The Leading Edge Boot Camp eCourse lasts five weeks. Each week features:

  • A 90-minute, live, interactive webinar. The sessions are lead by PLP co-founders Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach and Will Richardson. Seasoned educational leaders will be featured as guest speakers at each webinar.
  • A Powerful Learning Practice facilitator to provide tech support and foster discussion and learning during the webinar
  • Your participation in a virtual community will facilitate discussions, promote collaboration, deepen understanding, and result in a 21st Century strategic action plan for your school or district
  • Readings, tutorials, and practical examples that supplement the live discussion for the week
  • An archived recording of the session

Synchronous 1.5 hour Webinars – Wednesdays 10:00-11:30am EDT On-going interaction throughout the five weeks in the virtual learning community

Specific topics to be covered in the webinars include:

Week 1

Leading the Shift- A discussion that sets the stage for what 21st Century leadership looks like in today’s learning landscape. We will take a look at the barriers that leaders face and look at reports, articles, research that are shaping the trends and shifts.

Week 2

Panel Discussion with 21st Century Leaders- Join us as we talk with seasoned leaders from around the world who are walking the walk in their schools and districts. They will share tips, tricks and lessons learned as they led their faculties through a 21st Century change process.

Week 3

Distributive Leadership and Action Research - Find out how to leverage the talent in your building to create a learning organization with a shared vision, one that understands how to work together to support student achievement and innovation.

Week 4

The Network Literate Instructional Leader- This session examines how to promote the building of Personal Learning Networks for sharing, cooperation, and collective action by your staff as a means of supporting shifted curriculum and DIY professional development.

Week 5

Schooling for the 21st Century- Technological pedagogy in action. This session takes a closer look at the types of pedagogy needed when using Web-based strategies to support inquiry-driven approaches to learning.

The five-week The Leading Edge Boot Camp eCourse is $299 for PLPeeps (alumni who have been through the year-long community experience) and available to the public for $349.

Sheryl Nussbaum-BeachSheryl Nussbaum-Beach is a 20-year educator with experiences as a classroom teacher, technology coach, charter school principal, district administrator, and digital learning consultant. She is in the dissertation phase of completing her doctorate in Educational Planning, Policy and Leadership at the College of William and Mary and her first book on connected learning is due out in the fall from Solution Tree. Sheryl is a regular presenter internationally on topics of homelessness, teacher leadership, community building, educational leadership and 21st Century reform. Will RichardsonWill Richardson is an internationally respected author, speaker and blogger whose focus is helping educators realize the potential of Web 2.0 technologies in their own personal and professional practice and in their classrooms.
