 As technology expands daily, today’s school leaders have a wide array of new communications options at their fingertips.  As we explore 21st Century Skills, ISTE’s NETS for Administrators (NETS•A), Web 2.0 Tools and more, we will discuss how to collaborate and communicate as 21st Century Leaders both in our school communities and beyond.  Come and learn how you can master 21st Century Leader communications tools and strategies in the School Communications Toolkit for School Leaders eCourse.   • View and curate examples of 21st Century leader online communications

  • Utilize select Web 2.0 tools and practice applications
  • Design a 21st Century Communications strategy for communicating with your school community and more

The School Communications Toolkit for School Leaders eCourse lasts five weeks. Each week features:

  • A 90-minute, live, interactive webinar. The sessions are lead by PLP community leader Nancy Caramanico.
  • A Powerful Learning Practice facilitator to provide tech support and foster discussion and learning during the webinar
  • Your participation in a virtual community will facilitate discussions, promote collaboration, and deepen understanding.
  • Readings, tutorials, and practical examples that supplement the live discussion for the week
  • An archived recording of the session
This eCourse lasts five weeks.

  • Synchronous 1.5 hour Webinars – July 2-August 3, 2012 Tuesday mornings at 11-12:30pm Eastern

  • On-going interaction throughout the five weeks in the virtual learning community

Week 5 – Re-envisioning your communications plan

  • Design a 21st Century Communications Strategy
  • Include Strategies for communicating with your school community and beyond
  • Share Plans with Class

Nancy Caramanico

Nancy Caramanico is a community leader in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia community.  She is a certified Instructional Technology Specialist with a Master’s Degree in Education and a specialty in Distance Learning. She currently teaches in the Graduate Educational Leadership Program at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa where she instructs in both the online and face to face format.  She also works as aconsultant to schools and organizations as they look to lead and learn through innovation and technology. Nancy’s experience as a Teacher and Technology Coordinator, Professional Developer and recently as a K-12 Director of Technology (2006-2011) for over 200 schools allowed her to connect with thousands of educators and professionals online.
