Do you feel stuck in the 20th century?
Are you afraid your lessons have become stale or might not be preparing students for their future ahead? Do you know what tools and concepts should be included in a 21st Century classroom? At the heart of every 21st century classroom is the integration of the four Cs with the core curriculum and standards. To create an effective 21st classroom you’ll want to make sure you include these skills:
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
Create opportunities for students to think critically and solve problems. Our student’s future success will not depend on how much information they can ‘memorize’ but how well they critically look at a problem and find a solution. Set students up for success by creating a classroom rich in creativity.
Creativity and Innovation
We no longer live in the industrial age. The world needs students to think outside of the box and be creative. Encourage students to be curious, make mistakes and learn from them!
Students love to communicate with their peers. But do they understand how to be responsible and effectively communicate online and offline? Develop students’ communication skills through engaging online and offline activities.
Actively promote teamwork in your classroom! Construct opportunities for students to work together so they can build upon and strengthen the work of one another.
As an educator, do you understand the difference between a 20th century and a 21st century classroom?
Do you have an understanding of what are the 4 C’s and how to integrate them into the classroom?
Do you understand how to choose appropriate technology or have readily available tools that will help students problem solve and think critically?
Do your students understand how to collaborate — not only with their peers and classmates — but with others from across the globe?
Do your students understand how to communicate effectively or how to be creative online?
