Connected Educators are Dedicated to Ongoing Development of Expertise

Would you call yourself a lifelong learner – one that is committed to ongoing development of expertise in the classroom? Do you have an insatiable thirst to become a master at the art and craft of teaching and learning? If so, you are probably a connected educator.

One of the attributes that will serve connected learners well is a commitment to ongoing development of expertise. Connected educators add to their own learning intentionally for the good of the whole, to deepen the collective knowledge in their community of practice. As educators, we see ourselves as lifelong learners in order to connect with others and intentionally expand the wisdom of the group. Transparently sharing what we learn as we grow and improve, helps everyone grow. This collective knowledge serves as a “mind hive” that in the long run, makes society better.

This commitment to ongoing development of expertise is encouraged in the work we will be doing as part of the Instant Impact Collaborative Cohort. You will be able to take what you learn in this yearlong, coached, opportunity and share it with others back at your school or district. Your commitment to the development of expertise around teaching and learning in a pandemic will prove invaluable to others you will help guide along the way. Registration will close on Nov. 9, 2020.

Sheryl is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Powerful Learning Practice. She works with schools and districts from around the world helping them to infuse technology into their curriculums and by leading other digital conversion efforts. Sheryl also consults with governments, educational organizations and non-profits in development of their various professional learning initiatives. Sheryl is a sought-after presenter at national and international events, speaking on topics related to digital and online learning, teacher and educational leadership, online community building, and other educational issues impacting children of poverty. Sheryl served on the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Board of Directors for six years. She co-authored The Connected Educator: Learning and Leading in a Digital Age with Lani Ritter Hall.
