Twitter chat: The “How” of Connected Learning

Powerful Learning Practice (PLP) celebrated Connected Educator Month with a Twitter chat on August 9th at 7pm.  We focused the chat around what are the necessary steps needed to become connected. Everyone went into overdrive sharing their ideas, experiences, and questions during the hour long chat.  The #plpnetwork hashtag was blowing up the Twittersphere and we loved every moment!  In addition to the amazing ideas, @snbeach also taught us a valuable lesson.  It is possible to max out your number of ‘allowable tweets’:

Of course she didn’t miss a beat and was able to keep the conversations flowing by switching to the @PLPnetwork account.  Not to mention, showing all of us why you can never have too many back up plans (or accounts in this case)!

As the Tweets flashed across your TweetdeckHootsuite, and Twitterfall screens you may have still missed a few amazing tweets. So to help ease the twitter chat anxiety, we promised to pull together a comprehensive list of tweets from last night’s chat! We hope you’ll enjoy this list and remember to keep the questions and ideas flowing by adding the #plpnetwork hashtag to your future tweets. Aug 9th Comprehensive List of Tweets

Still not sure what all this Twitter chatting is about?

Check out our blog post on How to Get the Most Out of Participating in a Twitter Chat so you’ll be prepared for our next one! We’ll set up more chats in the future, and you’ll be first to hear about it if you sign up for PLP e-mails!

We also gave out some prizes!

Congratulations to our winners: @swaygrantham, @mathteacher24, @crwmsteach, @JosePopoff
