For immediate release

School leaders, whether from public or private institutions, know their students have changed. They know their teachers need to shift from a traditional teaching model.

But they often don’t know how to create a culture of change.

Powerful Learning Practice has created an innovative way to help them see the transformational power of using digital tools to learn.

We call this: The Leading Edge Experience

Leading Edge

The two components, The Leading Edge Community and The Leading Edge Boot Camp, can be taken separately or together.

Leading EdgeCommunity is a 9 month (August 2011 – April 2012) immersion in an asynchronous Virtual Learning Community where teams can collaborate, connect with other educators, and reflect deeply upon their learning anytime. Administrators will work with other school leaders to build an action plan from the ground up that can be used to implement 21st Century learning throughout your school or district. Eighteen interactive webinars including, Distributive Leadership for Student Success, Developing Your Personal Learning Network, and Bringing Parents On Board, will help leaders frame their work and create a culture of success for teachers.

Besides the Community, we offer a short version called Boot Camp. This intensive, small-group, eCourse is for school leaders who want to understand how 21st Century technologies are challenging curriculum and pedagogy and providing economical new ways for learning. This can be a jump start for the longer Leading Edge Community or can be taken alone as a way to look at the implications of this digital world for teaching and learning.

Pricing plans and more details are available here with a discount for individuals who wish to combine the experiences.

M.E. Steele-Pierce, Assistant Superintendent at West Clermont Local Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio says this about involvement with Powerful Learning Practice:

PLP has empowered our teachers and principals to think differently about what it means to be a 21C leader. It really has been a powerful learning practice.
